Week 3
17.02.2025
The day was devoted to the design of the support and socket. Several ideas were drawn on a paper and attempts to do them in Fusion 360 were successful. We were able to make a merged socket and a support for the probe with the velcro tapes and screws.
Then the other design with only screws was made:
18.02.2025
The TikiWiki website was developed, and several pages were added for the Lab Notebook. Additionally, further refinements were made to the design featuring screws. After a short meeting with the project manager and discussing the design it was decided to add the place for nuts. So the holes for screws were modified and the shape of the nut was added. For this the dimensions of screws and nuts from ACCU company were used.
19.02.2025
After a few refinements and discussing the design in a group it was sent to the project manager for printing. A short meeting with the project manager was done and the printing of the socket has been started. The duration of the printing is approximately 21 hours.
Several attempts were done to calibrate and scan the leg. However it did not work and we could not catch a 3D scan of the limb.
For the next days the tasks will be:
- Print the socket;
- Perform the experiment on the forearm;
- Get the data and make an analysis;
- Modify the code in Matlab and analyze the distance between the bone and the limb.
20.02.2025
The Matlab code has been studied and one of the videos has been post-processed to verify that the results correspond to expectations. There was a problem with printing the socket in such a way that the printing speed was too fast and it failed twice. So, the other design with the screws is being developed.
21.02.2025
The 3D printer has been repaired and the socket has been sent to print again. Screws and nuts were ordered, and we received the screws for the socket. Then the gel and the probe were given to us so that we could start the experiment next week when the socket is ready.
