Preliminary Designs

At first we were required to do the proof of concept and had to design the socket for the arm. The idea was to use some velcro tapes and the first design looked like this: 

However it was difficult to remove once it was put on, so we decided to use the screws and divide to two parts so that it will have the window for the probe too.

     

However, the holes appeared to be too small for the screws and we were able to connect the parts using the hair band. Anyway the design was reliable enough to successfully perform the experiments.

Then the next step was to design the socket and the support for the probe for the leg. For this we designed qnd proposed three different solutions:

• Using ordinary screws:

 

• Using the sliding mechanism:

 

• Using the "click-in" mechanism:

 

Finally it was decided to print the design with the sliding mechanism.
